CIRQUE DU SOLEIL
Two-Dimensional
Immersion & Key Art
Deconstruction
Commissioned by the Andorran agency Aymara for Cirque du Soleil’s ILLU (2025), we brought its official key art poster to life, transforming a static print layout into an immersive, navigable three-dimensional universe.
Immersive Journey& Absolute Scale
Our art direction framed the animation as an anatomical journey through the artwork, dismantling the original composition into multiple spatial layers:
· Layered Deconstruction & Macro Zoom-Out: We broke down the poster into depth strata. The sequence plunges the viewer into the core of the illustration, ultimately revealing the full artwork through a monumental, seamless camera zoom-out.
· Hybrid & Universal Execution: The production blends the warmth of traditional 2D animation, the structural depth of 3D spaces, and the sharp timing of motion graphics. This technical mix yields an organic, universal language tailored for a global audience.
· Investigative Narrative: We stripped down the plot’s complexity to its structural essence. Every frame functions as a visual clue where negative space and solid color blocks build a suffocating atmosphere, directly immersing the viewer into the underbelly of this “Dark City.” The outcome is an international broadcast design piece where digital craftsmanship and formal research unite to honor auteur cinema through a distinctly vanguard lens.
